history

This work of faith was started by Mr. Orban Stout who began printing gospel tracts with a press that could fit under your arm. In the late 1930's he used to give out tracts to people who gathered at the community kitchen for a meal since unemployment was so high in Alberta.

Later he set up shop at a mission and in a double garage. Here he printed millions of tracts destined for foreign lands. He sent them out free of charge, relying on donations from supporters. Later ETD moved again to a small building in Edmonton where we had the room to run a press that could print 140,000 tracts a day.
